Like so many other people I've decided to start blogging.
Its not original and its not unusual. It is, however, a bit of fun.
I've come to realise that I quite like talking about make up but not everyone shares the passion. At least this way, whoever likes it, can make the conscious decision to come and read about it and maybe even join in and I get to get it off my chest!
I used to just like doing it from an artistic and creative point of view but now I find myself getting a lot more involved. I wasn't a typical make up artist. I never claimed to know and own a million different brands and products. I very much stuck to what I knew but I've found a new lease of cosmetic life in the last year since going full time freelance.
I never considered myself to be girly. It probably came as a shock to some that I chose make up as my career path.
I'm not fussed with "rules" of make up. I think its more about personal preference.
It has taken me quite a while to actually start blogging. I was put off doing it by reading other blogs and the lack of interest I had in reading them. The information given and the reviews on products were either boring or actually didn't really tell me anything about the products. I found I had to go and do my own research in order to find out more. Defeats the purpose. Just saying you "like" something doesn't qualify as a review! Tell me about the product!
As a make up artist with 2 years retail experience and 1 year full time freelance experience I would pick freelance, hands down, without fail.
With freelance I have the absolute freedom to recommend products across the board with a non biased opinion and with honesty. There is no sense in recommending something that does not suit certain people.
Now I use quite a broad range of products and can't wait to start sharing opinions and ideas with you.
I'll be showing some techniques and recommending products. I'll also be hoping for some feedback from anyone who reads the blog posts and would like to know what you think.
I can be contacted through this site at anytime and will happily answer any questions you may have on certain products or make up styles.
I will also be open to requests on how to do particular styles of make up and what the best techniques are.
My Next blog will be about the tools needed for perfect make up, i.e Brushes. Trust me, These are just as important, if not, more so, than product itself! well, they all go hand in hand but you get what I'm saying. They are so important!
Back Soon!!
